18 April, 2016: Vanuatu is that place where visitors can discover what matters and take some time out of the daily grind to breath, relax and reenergise.
It is also a destination that is always evolving with more things to see and do, as well as places to dine and dance the night away, here are a few new things on the horizon:
Resorts
- Iririki Island Resort & Spa is reopening on 1 May, 2016 after a AUD$20 million dollar refurbishment. The resort features its new Jewel Casino and a new purpose built day spa
- Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu is reopening on 1 June, 2016. The property is being reinstated to its former glory
- Tamanu on the Beach is set to reopen towards the end of this year with new owners and additional rooms
- Ramada Resort Akiriki is opening in March 2017. The full-service beachfront resort will be nestled on the cliffs of Erakor Lagoon, just a few minutes from downtown Port Vila
- Friendly Beach has opened its brand new huts on the beach in December 2015 on Tanna Island, perfect for those looking for an authentic, outer island experience with friendly service all close to the live volcano, Mount Yasur
- Crystal Palace Hotel, including a new Chinese restaurant, opened in Port Vila in March 2016
Bars
- Lava Lounge opened in late 2015 and is located next to the Grand Hotel on the waterfront. Visitors can enjoy tapas and cocktails as the sun sets over the harbour
Banyan Beach Bar is a brand new beachfront bar in Port Vila located in between Chantilly’s on the Bay and Moorings hotel. It offers delicious cocktails and sliders and is located right on the beach
Several restaurants and spas have also opened in Vanuatu’s new shopping complex in Port Vila, Tana Russet Plaza, with one of the newest being the Shiro Japanese restaurant. Port Vila’s shopping complex is over 10,000 square metres in size, with three stories, 20 shops, a supermarket, cinema, food court, games arcade, children’s background, spa, gym, office spaces and parking
Tours
- Vanuatu Jungle Segways is a fun new tour located up at the summit and includes a tour of the beautiful tropical gardens with stunning views of Mele Bay, Efate
- Adventure Submarine provides an underwater tour of Port Vila harbour. The tour takes two hours with 30 minutes where the submarine dives to explores the local marine life and coral
- Wet’n’Wild Adventure Park is located in Mele Bay and now features more adrenaline activities including: go-karting; human slingshot; bubble soccer; and cable hang gliding
